Schick: Pitch Perfect 2 Music Video
As part of a partnership between Schick, Skintimate and Universal Studios, we were asked to create a music video and for the launch of the film Pitch Perfect 2.
The video served to introduce a leg care regimen for Schick and Skintimate called “Ready, Shave, Shine” so women consider the process of caring for their legs, similar to other beauty care regimens routinely undertaken (hair, makeup, etc.).
We partnered with director Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Rock of Ages) to create a song and dance number that both embodies the brands and brings to life the spirit of the hit film, Pitch Perfect. It centers on a college A Cappella group, known as the Basic Pitches, as they perform a parody arrangement of the songs “Bang, Bang” and “I Love It.”
The video ran online and in-store as part of point of sale kiosks. Within digital and social media, the music video was supported via desktop and mobile pre-roll placements, a dedicated custom Spotify channel, and contextual rich media placements. After only two weeks, the video had over 5 million combined Facebook and YouTube views.
